Job Description:

As a software engineer on the SPE Effectors team, you will be responsible for applying technical expertise in the development of C/C++ software development for embedded multi-processor systems. Provide practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Responsibilities:

1. Apply expertise in software development for embedded multi-processor systems.

2. Provide innovative and creative software solutions to complex technical problems.

3. Follow and/or recommend changes to established processes and procedures.

4. Review software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.

5. Produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts.

6. Utilize agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

Qualifications:

1. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant work experience OR in absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant work experience is required. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience. 

2. Experience using C/C++, MATLAB and Linux.

3. Experience developing, testing and/or integrating real-time software.

4. Experience with software/hardware/firmware integration.

We are actively pursuing Research & Development (R&D) work to develop and apply novel modeling and simulation approaches, especially for multi-fidelity and cross-disciplinary applications. You will be working at the premier engineering lab in the world in Advanced Science and Technology, performing modeling and simulation research for security.

Qualifications:

1. Ph. D. in electrical engineering, applied physics or a related STEM field OR a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or a related STEM plus 5 years of relevant work experience

2. Experience or training in design/modeling of semiconductor circuits/devices

3. Dedicated, demonstrated leadership experience

4. The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance

5. Able to work both collaborative and independent work environments

6. Knowledge of electrical circuit design and modeling tools (e.g. SPICE, TCAD, COMSOL)

7. Knowledge of experimental validation of computational models

8. Knowledge of a high-level programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C++)
